Margaret now spends her winter months travelling in northern Australia. Northern Queensland is a favourite destination of hers, especially Cairns and the Whitsundays. While in Cairns, Margaret spent an enchanted day on Fitzroy Island which later inspired a series of paintings. Most of this winter escape was spent at Cape Hillsborough National Park. Days were spent exploring the many walking tracks in the National Park, strolling along the beaches and swimming the warm sea. Like was very simple there, filled with daily surprises and endless inspiration. She would set-up the camp table with her painting materials, and painted daily. Such a peaceful existence that she is eternally grateful for.
