Margaret’s childhood was defined by her Swedish heritage and the particular Australian urban culture of the 60’s.
Her works are inspired and influenced by her interactions with the environment, whether it be in the city or country, in the water or on land.
The surfaces of her work are often layered with acrylic paint, fine art papers & found objects. In recent times she has been focusing on hand-cut plasma cutting in cortensteel for “Hand-cut Garden Metal Sculptures”, commission work, markets, galleries and nurseries.
Melbourne has been her hometown for many years. Completing a Bachelor of Education in Arts / Crafts at Melbourne University. Margaret launched into a career teaching in the Arts, working with young people new to this country. Through art practices and language Margaret helped enhance their artistic imagination whilst developing their language skills.
She has worked on many public art projects, curated exhibitions and commissions.
