“Coral Flow”, the central sculpture for my upcoming Metal & Paint solo exhibition at Red Gallery, is now completed! It is the largest free standing sculpture I have done and I am so proud of it.
What a journey - from conceptual drawings in the sand at Cape Hillsborough Tourist Park to the workshop here in Coburg. The inspiration for the piece came after even further up the eastern coastline, at Hydeaway Bay. We spent hours combing the fringe reef at low tide, discovering coral in so many colours and forms, along with other marine life. The sea is truly a spectacular world.
