Margaret Christianson is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist who creates metal sculpture and contemporary acrylic painting inspired by the natural environment.

2025 has been a year of growth and new directions in both sculpture and painting. From May to August, I spent time in Northern Queensland, where the landscapes and rich biodiversity inspired new paintings of the beaches, waterfalls, National Parks and its wildlife, mainly painted plein air.

From 28 August to 14 September, I had the great joy of taking up an Artist Residency with Janine Delgos in her studio @art_workshops_montville and exhibiting WINTER on Paper in AWGallery—the body of work created while up north. This residency was a true milestone in my practice and has confirmed the direction I wish to take my art next.

Recently, I delivered and installed four commissioned sculptures to Queensland: Harry the Emu - Emu Park, a Peacock Wall Panel - Mackay, a Kangaroo stand - Halliday Bay and the Emy_Lou Memorial - Cape Hillsborough National Park

My main focus now is my upcoming solo exhibition GIFT @galleryunbound 26/11/2025 - 21/11/2025 Opening celebrations: Friday 28/11/2025 6 to 8pm
